Free Spirited Lauryn Loves To Dance . .

This is Caitlyn and Brooke, the little sisters of Meagan and Lauryn at the Showcase. Below is Lauryn in the show and her best friend Meagan to her left.
Lauryn has been taking Hip Hop and Tap Dancing lessons at Katrina's Dance Works in St. Stephen and on June 9th her classes "Mini Hip Hop and Mini Tap" performed at the SSMS. Lauryn seems to be a natural at dancing and has loved it since she was a very young child. Pop and Nan attended her show along with Mom & Dad and sister Brooke.
What a great job Lauryn!

Bill Gaither & Friend's

What a little taste of Heaven! The Bill Gaither & Friend's Concert in Saint John last evening was "over the top". The only way it could have been better is if Bill Gaither himself could have been there! Let me explain for anyone who wasn't there--Bill Gaither has some serious health issues at the moment, and his Dr. recommended he not travel at this time. I was a little disappointed at first (how selfish of me), but everything went great. The presence of Holy Spirit was evident, and the concert was a real time of praise and worship. To have that many Christians under one roof, for one reason--to lift up the name of Jesus was certainly a joy! What a little taste of Heaven! Some of us were comparing this gathering to heaven and how we can't even imagine how great heaven is going to be! I bought the book "Something Beautiful" by Glora Gaither. Bill and Gloria have been writing songs for over 50 years, and this book is about the stories behind the songs.

This is Ernie Haase & Signature Band, who were so energetic, and enthusiastic in their singing. One of the ladies compared them to the "Wiggles" (with a great message). Janet Pascal sang beautifully, and shared how she went through cancer and treatments in 2005, but now has a clean bill of health. She thanked all those who prayed for her. We enjoyed Guy Penrod, who is part of the Gaither Vocal Band (who now has 8 children). Jeff and Sheri Easter, Lynda Randle, and I don't want to forget "Ben Speer" are a few more of those who sang. I'm sure I'm missing some. In all, we had a blessed evening!

Coffee Corner Has A Visitor . . .

This morning Maisie brought her niece Iva Lynn (who is here visiting from Alberta) in for coffee. Pictured here is Beth, her Mother Maisie and Iva Lynn. Tomorrow night is the big night some of us have been waiting for--"Bill Gaither & Homecoming Friends" at Harbour Station. I enjoy a variety of Gospel music, but the Gaithers and the Homecoming Friends are still right there at the top of my list. My Mom really enjoys them and listens to them on TV every Friday evening.

Yummy . . .

This was Lauryn's Nanny Day, so I cooked her favorite food (our own invention) peanut butter and honey pizza. Lauryn's one word to describe this is Yummy! Even Pop agrees. In case you'd like to try it--you make homemade pizza dough, let raise and cook just like you would a pizza. After cooling for just a few minutes you slather with peanut butter, and drizzle with honey. Enjoy!
The rest of us like old fashioned pizza.

The Flying "Nan"

Lauryn and Brooke coaxed me into getting on the trampolene last evening and they looked on quite amazed that Nan could still jump. I'd like to challenge all you Nan's out there to give the trampolene a try--you might like it! The girls invited us over last night for "smores" and we even convinced Lauryn that since we wait on her at our house that she should do the honors for us. I think she's going to be a good cook because she gave us the option of golden or "well done" which is more like burnt!

Warren just happens to like his marshmellows "well done"!
The girls spend quite a bit of time driving their battery operated cars around the yard and Brook is always wanting to drive Lauryn's Barbie car instead of her Dora car because it is faster. Last night Lauryn's battery was running low, so we told her to let Brooke drive it (of course we didn't tell Brooke about the battery). Brooke noticed right away that it wasn't going very fast and she wasn't long insisting she wanted her own car back. Here she is giving Lauryn a little boost. Brooke is already thinking she'd like to have a blue "mustang". I think she saw one at Toys'R Us.

Grand Opening--Congrats 2 X J

Congrats Jill and Jessica on the Grand Opening of their Salon 2 X J in St. Andrews! Pictured here with Jill and Jessica is Jill's daughter Trisha.
Some of the well wishers today were Jill's husband Fred, pictured here with (l-r) his sister Noreen, Mom June and sister Lynn.

Pat and I had lunch today at the Harbour Front Restaurant where one of the waitresses thought Pat looked like Martha Stewart (a much younger version of course). We did a little shopping and I found a really nice shower curtain and liner at the Ivy Lane shop. Our next stop was to see Trisha's new puppy "Belle".
She is a real cutie.

Martha Stewart???

A man has to walk his dog, and this is Fred doing the honors. Then below Trisha and Jill are both snuggling with their new puppy.

Visit to PEI and New Glasgow, NS

This is Stan and Adrian MacDonald from O'Leary, PEI. Sydney went to University with Stan and they have remained good friends over the years. We had a wonderful visit at their store in O'Leary (Adrian is now carrying scrapbooking supplies and yarn) as well as over 100 beautiful quilts--mostly made by the locals. Stan has the drug store upstairs in their building, and the Thursday evening before we arrived they had a breakin at about 1:00 a.m. There was a road block and a high speed chase and the robbers were caught! One of the robbers ended up with a broken back and was taken to the Moncton hospital. Stan and Adrian met us at the Rodd Inn for a late supper when Adrian got off work and they joined us Sat. morning for breakfast before we caught the ferry to Caribou, NS.

This is my Mom "Queenie" and my sister Christena. Syd and I stayed with Mom on Sat. evening and then went to Christena and David's for breakfast Sun. morning before heading out for the car show in Bible Hill, NS.

This is Joseph, Christena and David's 8 month old Grandson who was happy to entertain us while David was cooking us a wonderful breakfast!

We ran into a couple of friends from St. George (Cathy & Royden) at the car show and Syd found a few parts at the flea market for our friend Clifford. The number of cars was way down, I'm sure because of the weather. We crammed a lot into the 3 days, but all in all it was good to see everyone and we had a good weekend!
