Happy Birthday Brooke & Grandma

Brooke came to breakfast at Friend's this morning with her Mommy & Nan & Pop and two other Nan's-Pat and Marjorie. Cecilly (the cook) came out with a birthday cake for Brooke and Pat brought balloons, & Marjorie bought her a new teddy bear named Tanner. Brooke wanted a turtle necklace like Nan's which I'm putting on her in this pic.

Today's the big day! Brooke turns 4 and Grandma, (I'll let her tell her age). This pic is Lauryn and Brooke cooking with Grandma in July 2006. The girls talk about Grandma a lot and have many wonderful memories and we all wish you a wonderful birthday Marge. Brooke you are one of a kind and such a loving, caring child, may you have many healthy, happy years ahead. God Bless you both! Lauryn is such a princess in her own class, and I'm sure she will make sure Brooke's birthday is celebrated "just the way it should be" --lot's of friends, balloons, cake & gifts.

Also, a belated Happy Birthday to Grandpa who had a birthday on Sunday, Feb. 25th!

Brooke Goes Shopping

Pop and I took Brooke shopping in Saint John this evening to Toys 'R Us to get some ideas for her 4th birthday which is tomorrow, although her party isn't until Sat. Tomorrow is also Brooke's Grandma's birthday "Marge Giesbrecht" which we all think is very special. We got some ideas and Pop made a purchase while Brooke and I continued looking (it's a secret until Sat.). After our little shopping expedition we stopped by Tim's for hot chocolate and donuts and stopped by Great Gram's "Sarah Varner's" for a visit and a snack. We enjoyed our visit and Brooke crawled up in Gram's lap and asked her if she had "Kid's Channels" on her TV. We couldn't find any, although she does have quite a selection. We caught part of American Idol when we got home. It's just not very exciting yet, it was the guys tonight and I think I prefer the girls this year. Syd headed upstairs to watch Man Tracker, which is more to his liking. Well, I still have quite a few things on my to do list before we go on vacation (one being a pedicure) which I may do now before retiring for the night. One of our traditions before Brooke and Lauryn's birthday parties has been that they have a sleepover with Nan the night before the party, while the sibling helps the parents with all the party preparations for the birthday girl. This sleepover includes a manicure and pedicure for the birthday girl, so I need to fit mine in before Friday night. I've included a pic of Brooke's manicure last year and a pic of Brooke with her friend Caitlin at her 3rd birthday party.

Brooke's Nanny Day

Monday is usually Brooke's Nanny Day and since there was no Wee School today we had the whole day together. After breakfast at Friend's Restaurant we came home and she watched some "Kid's TV" and had lunch. After lunch we played school, and she let me be the teacher (usually she wants this position). When she was spelling some words in her workbook and would get a few letters mixed up, I told her you dot the "i" and cross the "t's". She then started pointing to her "eye" everytime she'd come to an "i". After play school and a snack she was on the computer watching a Dora Movie while I had my tea and watched a little bit of Dr. Phil. I came into the computer room to check on her and she was among the missing. I looked everywhere for her, upstairs, sunroom, I checked the back door and it was still locked, in closets, etc. I was starting to get worried when I couldn't find her anywhere so I mentioned food, and then I heard a little voice. Brooke had crawled under the bed in the downstairs spare room and was hiding. Well, "I wonder where she learned to play a prank like this?" . . . . Lauryn & Meagan had dance lessons in St. Stephen this evening. Brooke was looking forward to Caitlyn coming over to play with her while the older girls were gone.

I was on line earlier checking the weather in Punta Cana, in the Dominican Republic. Temperatures ranging from high's of 86, and lows of 74, WOW! Six more sleeps and winter will turn into summer. Some of us are very excited about our upcoming vacation. I spent a big part of this evening ironing short sleeved shirts for my husband while previewing a movie. I picked up my sewing from Sa this evening, and as usual she did an excellent job. I found a nice lime green dress on line at JC Penney's to wear to the upcoming Beach wedding. Somehow, the mother of the bride went to Bangor and bought the same dress in another color. Our seamstress Sa was the one that broke the news to us. We got a chuckle out of it and both still plan to wear our dress.

Lauryn and Brooke are excited about their upcoming trip to Florida. I think the idea of being with Grandma, Grandpa and Uncle Terry is a big part of their excitement. They leave the day we come back, so it will be a long stretch for us.

It was good to see Wilma and Kelly at church on Sunday and then again this morning at breakfast. They were home for almost a week and were supposed to fly out this morning but their flight was cancelled until tomorrow. I attached our new website at the church as a link to my blog. Chris is doing a fantastic job with it, but it is not completed yet. Well, it's getting very late so I think I'll close for tonight.

Felicity Rachel Lynn Anderson has arrived!

My Nephew Jason was able to be home for the birth of his daughter Felicity, who was born February 20th,weighing in at 7 lbs. 4 oz. Congrats Jason & Jillian and the 7 siblings! Jason has recently been in Gagetown training and then on to Pettiwawa for the birth of his daughter and is due to go to Afghanistan on Feb. 28th. We'll be keeping you in our prayers Jason!

I think I'm getting "cabin fever" since I've been house bound since last Sat. evening. Also, missing the granddaughters (who I did not want to pass my bug on to). Hopefully, by tomorrow I'll be able to at least stick my head outside the door. Girls just called and they are both home sick with their Dad today.

I received good news today--my oldest brother Billy (who won't be 66 until June) got out of the hospital, (in New Glasgow) but he is still a very sick man.

Pop (my husband) is out for a snowmobile ride this afternoon with a friend. Hopefully they are able to enjoy the sunshine and snow.

Just watched a program on Worship (http://www.newday.org/guests), which was very interesting and informative. Their guest Tamara Winslow is going to be on
It's A New Day all this week. Some things I learned about worship: 24/7 we worship something. The opposite of worship is worry and 5 characteristics of worship: Worship/Service, Worship/Obedience, Worship/Humility, Worship/Love-friendship & Worship/Respectful Reverance.
Col. 3:1-3 tells us we are seated with Christ in Heavenly places.

I think it's tea time.

Since I'm home sick today, I decided I should try to start a blog.
Not sure if I'm setting it up right. I always enjoy keeping up on
other people's blogs.
